You might be wondering why I put writing prompts in my blogs. Well, many of my short stories came from prompts like the ones I give you. If you have read Boxers or Briefs a book of Shorts, there are stories in there that came from random prompts. Daryl DeVille Spy was one of them. There will be several more coming out in the second edition of Boxers, slated for sometime next year. “It was a Dark and Stormy Night,” “Caleb the Conqueror” and hopefully several from a creative writing workshop I held last year.
In other news: I will have a booth at the Central Valley High School craft fair on November 1st and 2nd. If you would like to come and say Hi, maybe get a book or two signed, I would love to meet you. If you have any stories from the writing prompts, bring ’em.
Yank (third book in the Haggenville Chronicle series) is coming along nicely. Patricia has almost recovered from her brush with death and is planning more trouble to get into. The kid is not having a good day and it doesn’t look like it will be getting any better anytime soon.
For all of the Biography fans out there, I have started transcribing the recordings of an interview with a young woman from Nigeria. It is slow, but I am making progress. When I am finished with these recordings I will start the interview process back up where we left off.
Please, if you like the content, share it with your friends and get them to subscribe. Still working toward 1000 subscribers by the first of the year. As well as getting Yank into the editing phase.
Thanks, see you next week, unless I can’t contain myself:)
Nathaniel Bennett.
