The craft show at Central Valley High School was fun and a big success. I got to see some old friends and made some new friends. It’s always nice to meet new people.
My next outing will be in Liberty Lake at Ridgeline High School on December 6 and 7. It will be the last craft fair of the year and your last chance to get those hard to find crafts for Christmas.
I was asked the other day if I was making any money at this. I have to answer no to that. I’m not sure I have broken even on the costs of my first book not to mention the other four, with more coming next year. Don’t get me wrong, I would love to make money doing this.
No, I just like to write and encourage people to read more. It is amazing how many people don’t like to read these days. Whatever excuse you use, reading can take you places that any form of social media can’t.
I suppose my mission for doing the Craft Fairs is getting people interested in reading again. For those of you who don’t know, I do creative writing workshops. I can go to schools or to groups interested in having a guest speaker. There is no age category, the only requirement is that the participants be able to read and write. So far the age groups have been between 12-92. If you have a group interested, just shoot me an email and we can set something up. I don’t charge for this, but if you want to help out with expenses I probably won’t say no.
Let me know in the comments what you think. Give me a like and get your friends to subscribe so i can reach more people that like to read and introduce reading to those who want to adventure away from this world without leaving their living rooms.
I lift my coffee cup to all of you in salute of good reading. Until next time.
Nathan Bennett.
